Ayia
Napa:
Upbeat, cosmopolitan and
full of life, Ayia Napa
offers pure Mediterranean
pleasure, whether
snorkelling in the
turquoise blue waters,
enjoying the notoriously
celebrated nightlife or
relaxing on one of the six
Blue Flag award beaches,
including Nissi Beach in
this lovely, laid back
suburb of Ayia Napa.
Boasting a superb
monastery with a central
octagonal fountain, a
small marine museum and a
pretty harbour, much
character and flavour of
the small, sleepy fishing
village, which Ayia Napa
once was, still remains.
60 minutes from Larnaca
airport.
Beaches
Liminaki
Beach is the nearest to
the resort, and the kids
can enjoy exploring the
Thalassines Spilies (Sea
Caves) at the end of the
beach.
Kryo
Nero has cafés, snack
bars and restaurants –
and a great view of Ayia
Napa’s pretty fishing
harbour. Head out of Ayia
Napa itself and you’ll
have still more to choose
from. Macronissos Beach
not only has all the usual
facilities, but also has a
maze of ancient Greek and
Roman tombs to explore.
Nissi
Beach is probably the most
popular beach on the
coastline, it attracts all
age groups with its
shallow waters, white
sand, abundance of
watersports and a
chilled-out atmosphere.
Konnos
Beach is close to Ayia
Napa, and is said to be
one of the most
picturesque beaches on the
island. Ayia Thekla Beach
has a quiet, relaxed feel.
Although the sand is fine,
there are rocks leading
into the sea. Grecian Bay
(near the Grecian Sands
Hotel) is another quiet
little bay, but with all
facilities.
