Food and Drink in Cyprus

Cyprus offers an endless choice of charming restaurants, serving international cuisine and fabulous seafood. For an authentic taste, venture to the smaller local villages and enjoy specialities such as Moussaka, aubergine with minced meat and tomatoes. Famous for its feta cheese, figs, honey and yoghurt, which can be found on most menus, food in Greece is served in an informal and relaxed ambience, making dining a pleasurable experience. For a lighter snack, share a plate of mezeldhez, a selection of dips, savoury pastries, fried vegetables and perhaps some octopus, washed down with a glass of Ouzo.

Cyprus has a number of restaurants available offering a number of cuisines. The most popular is the local and traditional Greek food, however you will also find French, Italian, Indian, Thai, Chinese and Vietnamese restaurants. Fast food chains can also be found in Cyprus. The nightlife in Cyprus is brilliant with bars, pubs, clubs and discos. There are a number of bars and clubs that are mainly open during the peak summer season. They are open until the early hours of the morning so you can dance the night away. The bars and pubs offer live music, karaoke, cocktails and plenty of other offers. Shopping in Cyprus is brilliant. You will find clothing, jewellery, souvenirs, crafts and leather goods as well as many other things in Cyprus. Public transport is good, with regular buses taking you to the various resorts on the island.
